Legend of Slime: How to Get Stronger with Forks and Relics

In Legend of Slime, the player will eventually unlock the feature to obtain Forks to unlock and upgrade Relics. The system can be a little confusing. What do I spend my forks on? Should I upgrade my relics or try to obtain new relics? What is the best relic to use? In this guide, I will answer all these questions and more.

What are Forks, and where can I get them?

Forks are a currency used to obtain and upgrade relics. They can be found by completing Village Raids. The higher the raid level, the more forks you will be rewarded with.

What can I use Forks for? Where can I obtain/upgrade relics?

Forks are used to obtain and upgrade relics. You can go to the relics menu by clicking on the first tab at the bottom of the screen (the blue slime icon), then clicking on the Relic tab on the menu that pops up.

Should I upgrade my current Relics, or try to discover new Relics?

Always try to Find Relics first before upgrading your current Relics. Finding a new Relic gives you a massive boost in power.

If you don’t have nearly enough forks to find a new relic, then just upgrade your current relics. For example, if it costs 500 forks to find a new relic and I have 450 forks, then it’s OK for me to wait until the next day to complete a Village Raid to discover a new relic. However, if it costs by 940C to find a new relic and I only have 23.4C, and I only obtain 50C forks currently with my level of Village Raid, then it’s better to upgrade my current Relics rather than waiting to discover.

What are the best Relics to use?

You can only use one type of Relic for each category. There are seven categories: bottle, gems, figurines, seats, necklaces, masks, and books. There are the best choices for each category in order to increase your damage:

  • Bottle: Ancient Coins
  • Gem: Topaz
  • Figure: Slime Figurine
  • Seat: Pile of Coins
  • Necklace: Friendship Necklace. Choose Ruby Necklace if you are equipped with the Meteor Swarm skill, or Pearl Necklace if you have equipped the Evil Spirit skill.
  • Mask: Kitsune Mask
  • Book: Tome of Disorder

Which Relics should I upgrade first?

As a general rule, you should always upgrade in this order: books, masks, necklaces, seats, figurines, gems, and bottles.

That being said, the cost to upgrade relics is the same for everything, so your goal is to utilize your Forks in a cost-effective manner. A great way to tell is to test an upgrade by enhancing one relic and seeing how much your attack increases, then upgrading another relic and seeing which one increases your attack more. Afterward, you can use simple maths to determine what would the best choice.

Scenario #1:

It costs 187B to upgrade my bottle, and 832B to upgrade my mask. When I enhance my bottle just once, my power increases by 180H. When I upgrade my mask, my power increases by 2.7I, or 2700H (just to make everything the same unit).

As you can see, it costs about 4x as much to upgrade my mask versus the bottle. HOWEVER, compared to the bottle, the mask increases my power by 15x as much! So it’s definitely worth it to upgrade the mask versus the bottle in this scenario.

Scenario #2:

Let’s say the same scenario, except instead of 832B to upgrade my mask, 832J.

The bottle costs 187B to upgrade, and it increases my power by 180H.

The mask costs 187,000,000,000,000,000,000B to upgrade (after translating from J), and increases my power by 2700H.

In this scenario, it costs wayyyy too much to upgrade the mask compared to the bottle. I can get significantly more power, cost wise, by upgrading the bottle than the mask. In this scenario, I would realize I did not upgrade my bottle enough, and would dump all my forks under the bottle.

At the end of the day, can you go wrong?

Not really. You can get tedious with the maths and try to optimize your forks as much as possible, but as long as you’re using your forks on a daily basis, you’ll continue to get stronger.

Conclusion: To fork or not to fork?

Always to fork.
